Abstract

The main aim of this paper is to examine the effect of sunflower oil biodiesel and diesel blends on engine performance. The procedure used to determine performance parameters such as brake horse power, brake specific fuel consumption, brake thermal efficiency, brake mean effective pressure, and engine speed, as well as combustion parameters such as cylinder pressure and exhaust gas temperature, was discussed. First, we pick edible oil and diesel in varying amounts to replace diesel as much as feasible. The research looks at the fundamental fuel qualities of edible oil and their diesel mixtures. This provides facts that must be considered while using a diesel engine. The present experimental results proved that the S10D90 would be the promising alternative fuels for off-road vehicle diesel engines. The former combination could eliminate the usage of diesel completely, whereas the later replaces the diesel usage partially without any engine modifications.
