The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into education has significantly accelerated the current teaching-learning process, with chatbots emerging as powerful tools for enhancing personalised and interactive learning experiences. However, a comprehensive understanding of the global research landscape on Chatbot-Assisted Learning (CAL) remains underexplored. This study aims to analyse the evolution, trends, and patterns of CAL research from 2024 to 2025. It identifies the most influential authors, countries, and collaborative networks, while highlighting thematic areas and research gaps.
A total of 253 open-access research articles were retrieved from the Dimensions AI database using a targeted keyword search. Bibliometric techniques—namely, co-authorship analysis, citation analysis, and bibliographic coupling—were applied using VOSviewer to map scholarly productivity, influence, and international collaboration.
