Abstract

The proliferation of social media platforms has significantly influenced the lives of adolescents worldwide. While social media offers numerous benefits, such as enhanced connectivity and access to information, it has also raised concerns about its potential negative impact on mental health.

This research paper aims to investigate the relationship between social media usage and mental health among adolescents in India. Through a comprehensive literature review and empirical data analysis, the study will explore factors such as excessive screen time, cyberbullying, unrealistic comparisons, and social isolation that contribute to mental health challenges. By understanding the complex interplay between social media and adolescent mental health, this research seeks to provide valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and healthcare professionals to develop effective strategies for promoting mental well-being in the digital age.
