Conditions associated with a sedentary lifestyle include cardiovascular disease, cancer, obesity, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, osteoporosis, depression, and non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus. Inappropriate eating habits (high-fat and sugary foods), irregular eating patterns, insufficient physical activity, mental health issues (anxiety, stress), harmful habits (smoking, drinking), and poor sleep hygiene are all contributors to lifestyle disorders. As we move from the 20th to the 21st century, we see India transition from a time when infectious diseases and maternal and childhood mortality were the norm to a time where lifestyle disorders are the norm. Lifestyle disorders accounted for 61.8% of all fatalities in India in 2017. Changing or adjusting to a healthier lifestyle can prevent one-third of malignancies, 80 percent of cardiopulmonary diseases, 90 percent of non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus, and a lot of other health problems, according to UttonRafei, regional director of the World Health Organization. Yoga is a methodical strategy for maintaining a healthy body and tranquil mind. It provides detailed instructions on when, what, how, and what not to consume. To restore health and vitality and fortify the immune system, naturopathy practitioners employ the five elements of nature: Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and Akasha. The lifestyle disorders can surely be reversed with the help of naturopathy and yoga. A daily practice of yoga and pranayama, together with the use of natural medications, changes to one's sleep and eating habits, and a suitable, personalized diet can help accomplish this.
