The central theme remains grasping the Gandhian perception on modernity and the associated dynamics. Since, the Gandhian understanding of modernity related strongly to a moral and ethical side of human evolution. The imperialist economic conundrum was the centre piece of the struggle against the tyranny of directed and perceived progress. The Gandhian idea of modernity clearly demarcated between the reality and projected systems meant to maximize returns. The paper tries to shed some more light on the chain of possibilities that the Gandhian ideas tried to project post the Industrial boom and the supposed effect of the same on regional systems and societal dynamics. The central idea is to delve deeper into the Gandhian notion of modernity which demystified the construct of globalisation and related processes of consumerism and unwarranted development, which, did infact bring about scientific and industrial progress but also inflicted the brunt of social injustice and environmental crises on the seekers as well as the meek.
