Industrial workers form the backbone of India’s economic growth and development. As the country has transitioned from an agrarian economy to an industrial and service-based one, the contribution of workers engaged in factories, manufacturing units, mines, and other industrial establishments has become indispensable. They play a pivotal role not only in increasing production and generating employment but also in ensuring that India can compete in the global marketplace. However, the well-being and productivity of these workers depend heavily on the environment in which they work. Thus, welfare measures have emerged as a central element in sustaining industrial growth, ensuring social justice, and maintaining industrial harmony.
