When India became independent, the biggest question was which governance system should be adopted. The framers of the constitution and freedom fighters advocated adopting a Democratic government in India. India implemented an independent constitution in November 26, 1949 and ever since the last more than seven decades have succeeded without changing its basic structure. But for all these years democracy as a type of government and as a framework of organizing politics has remained a contentious category in India.[1] Today's India is a sovereign nation, a dynamic democracy with a prime population of young, energetic and well- educated citizens.[2] Elections are essential for democracy. It is the backbone of democracy. The Government is legitimated by elections. It maintains the link between government and the people of the state. People enjoy their political rights of elections. Election helps to solve the problem of leadership competition. These representatives are looking into the welfare of their people. An Election can ensure a change in leadership. Election is means of self- evolution after five years. Leaders can review their performance and try to fulfill the demands of citizens by election time to time. Elections are no longer regarded as faithful processes in modern times. This research work focused on the relevance of Election Commission and Election Process and the reasons behind unfaithfulness of Election Process in India in turbulence age.
